किसानों ने खत्म किया 'चक्का जाम', कई राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग बंद रहे

चालीस से अधिक किसान संगठन ने आज (6 फरवरी) चक्का जाम किया। केन्द्र सरकार के कृषि कानूनों के खिलाफ दोपहर 12 बजे से तीन बजे तक अनेक राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों पर वाहनों की आवाजाही बंद रही। दिल्ली, उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड को छोड़कर अन्य जगहों पर किसानों ने चक्का जाम के दौरान राजमार्गों को जाम किया. प्रदर्शनकारी किसानों ने पलवल हाईवे समेत कई अन्य राजमार्गों को जाम किया। चक्का जाम को देखते हुए दिल्ली को हाई अलर्ट पर रखा गया। राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में सुरक्षा के पुख्ता इंतजाम किए गए थे. दिल्ली-एनसीआर में 50,000 के करीब जवानों की तैनाती की गई।

समाचार एजेंसी एएनआई के अनुसार, किसान संगठनों का आह्वान पर बुलाये गये चक्का जाम के दौरान, किसानों ने जम्मू-पठानकोट हाईवे, अमृतसर-दिल्ली नेशनल हाईवे, शाहजहांपुर (राजस्थान-हरियाणा) बॉर्डर के पास राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पर भी चक्का जाम किया।

किसानों का ये विरोध प्रदर्शन शांति पूर्ण तरीके से समाप्त हुआ। यद्यपि, प्रदर्शन को देखते हुए पुलिस प्रशासन ने पहले से सुरक्षा की कड़ी व्यवस्था किया था।दिल्ली पुलिस की सहायता के लिए, सीमाओं सहित दिल्ली-एनसीआर के विभिन्न हिस्सों में अर्धसैनिक बलों को तैनात किया गया था। हालांकि इस प्रदर्शन के दौरान दिल्ली, उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड में चक्का जाम नहीं किया गया। वहीं, मुख्य विपक्षी दल कांग्रेस ने किसानों के इस प्रदर्शन का समर्थन किया।

भारतीय किसान यूनियन ने प्रदर्शन से पहले कहा था कि दिल्ली-NCR, यूपी और उत्तराखंड में सड़कें जाम नहीं की जाएंगी। यूनियन ने कहा, दिल्ली में तो हर दिन जाम जैसे हालात रहते हैं, ऐसे में यहां जाम की क्या जरूरत है। हालांकि, यूपी और उत्तराखंड को इससे अलग रखने की वजह नहीं बताई। यह जरूर कहा कि इन दोनों राज्यों से किसानों को स्टैंडबाई पर रखा गया है और उन्हें किसी भी वक्त बुलाया जा सकता है।

50 detained in Delhi for protesting in support of farmers

Since the rally on Republic Day, this has been the farmers’ first major event today. R-Day rally saw chaotic scenes as groups of protesting farmers broke off the planned parade route, entered the centre of the national capital, and clashed with the police.

Protesting against the Centre’s new farm laws, farmers blocked roads at several places in Punjab and Haryana on the call given by the farmers’ unions for a nationwide ‘chakka jam’ or road blockade on Saturday. Barring Delhi, the blockade is taking place in other parts of the National Capital Region, and the rest of the country.

In view of the nationwide ‘Chakka Jam’, the Delhi Police have strengthened security arrangements at all border points in the national capital. The police have erected multi-layer barricades to stop the movement of vehicles at the Ghazipur border. Barbed wires have also been put up to keep off people on foot.

As many as 50 people have been detained near Shaheedi Park in central Delhi for allegedly holding a protest in support of the ‘chakka jam’ call given by the farmers agitating against the farm laws, police said according to news agency PTI.

The Haryana Police has also stepped up security measures in a bid to maintain law and order. Senior police officers have been asked to personally supervise security and traffic arrangements at vital junctions and roads while district police chiefs have been directed to ensure deployment of adequate personnel, according to an official communication issued to them. The entry and exit gates of 10 metro stations in the National Capital have been closed, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announced.
