पूर्व राष्ट्रपति एवं भारत रत्न प्रणब मुखर्जी नहीं रहे। दिल्ली कैंट स्थित आर्मी हॉस्पिटल में उनका निधन हो गया। 10 अगस्त को उन्हें भर्ती कराया गया और उसी दिन उनके ब्रेन की सर्जरी करके एक क्लाॅट निकाला गया था। बाद में उनके फेफड़े में संक्रमण फैल गया था।स्वर्गीय मुखर्जी 2012 से 2017 के बीच भारत के 13वें राष्ट्रपति थे। उनके सम्मान में सात दिनों के राष्ट्रीय शोक की घोषणा करते हुए झंडा झुकाया गया।

प्रणब दा भारत के हर वर्ग के लिए ‘घर के बुजुर्ग’ जैसे, सबके आदरणीय व अजात शत्रु थे। रामजन्मभूमि का सुखद और परस्पर सहमत समाधान चाहते थे। सुप्रीम कोर्ट के निर्णय से उन्हें आनंद हुआ होगा। धर्मनिष्ठ थे। नवरात्री पूजन को हर वर्ष विधि-विधान से अपने गाँव में करते थेपू. सरसंघचालक जी ने @RSSorg के कार्यक्रम में नागपुर आने का निमंत्रण दिया। उन्होंने सहज स्वीकार किया था। सेक्युलर टोले ने इसके विरुद्ध बवंडर मचा दिया था। पर प्रणब दा अटल रहे, उत्सव में पधारे और हम सब को प्रेरणा देने वाला सन्देश दिया।
