दैनिक जागरण के अनुसार, किसान आंदोलन के नाम पर राजनीति चमका रहे लोगों पर प्रधानमंत्री ने निशाना साधा, आंदोलन जीवियों से बचे देश। अमर उजाला ने लिखा है- किसान बोले-वार्ता को तैयार, सरकार तय करे तारीख। जनसत्ता ने बताया है- सरकार ने गलत सूचना फैलाने वाले पाकिस्तान और खालिस्तान समर्थकों से संबंधित ट्विटर के एक हजार 178 खातों को बंद करने का आदेश दिया।

खोज और बचाव कार्य में लगे ITBP, Army, SSB, SDRF, NDRF
उत्तराखंड के चमोली जिले में तपोवन सुरंग में फंसे श्रमिकों को बचाने के लिए व्यापक खोज और बचाव कार्य जारी है। राज्य सरकार ने आधिकारिक रूप से रविवार को अचानक आई बाढ़ में एक सौ 97 श्रमिकों के लापता होने की पुष्टि की है। बचाव दल ने अब तक 26 शव बाहर निकाल लिये हैं और सुरंग में फंसे 12 व्यक्तियों को सुरक्षित बचा लिया है।
भारत तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस ITBP, सेना Army, सशत्र सुरक्षा बल SSB, राज्य आपदा मोचन बल SDRF और राष्ट्रीय आपदा मोचन बल NDRF फंसे हुए श्रमिकों को बचाने में जुटे हैं। इस आपदा से ऋषिगंगा और तपोवन बिजली परियोजनाओं को बहुत नुकसान हुआ है। अचानक आई बाढ़ पर भारतीय सुदूर संवेदी संस्थान ने एक नई अवधारणा दी है जिसके अनुसार हिमखंड फिसलने से हुए भूस्खलन के कारण यह बाढ़ आई।
मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र सिंह रावत बचाव कार्यों का जायजा लेने के लिए चमोली पहुंच गए हैं। आपदा प्रभावित इलाके में राहत और बचाव कार्य युद्ध स्तर पर जारी है। मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र सिंह रावत कल शाम चमोली जिले के आपदा ग्रस्त इलाकों का दौरा किये। राहत और बचाव कार्यों को जायजा लिया। रात में राहत और बचाव कार्य में जुटे वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की बैठक में उन्होंने बेहतर तालमेल के साथ काम करने के निर्देश दिये। उन्होंने कहा कि आपदा प्रभावित गांवों में खाद्यान और रोज की जरूरत के समान पर्याप्त मात्रा में उपलब्ध होने चाहिए। आज वे आपदा प्रभावित गांवों को दौरा करेंगे।

Massive search and rescue operation is underway to save trapped workers from the Tapovan tunnel in Chamoli dustruct of Uttrakhand. The state government has officially confirmed that 197 workers remain missing in the flash flood since Sunday. The rescue team has so far recovered 26 bodies and was successful in evacuating 12 persons trapped in a tunnel.
A major rescue operation is underway involving the ITBP, Army, SSB, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) - are working round the clock to find trapped workers.
CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has arrived in Chamoli to asses the rescue operation. He held the meeting with senior officers last night there.
"In the disaster hit areas, rescue operation is underway on war footing. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat is Camping in Chamoli. In a meeting with senior officers engaged in rescue operation last night, Chief Minister emphasised better coordination with different officials who are engaged in rescue work. He will visit disaster-hit villages today. He also told officials to focus on providing ration and daily need items to the disaster affected villagers. He directed the officers that adequate food items should be available in the area and all the necessary materials should be available in time to the personnel engaged in relief and rescue operations.

A flash flood in river Rishiganga created havoc near Reni village in district Chamoli. The Rishiganga and Tapovan power projects were badly affected by the disaster.
Providing a new theory on the flash flood, the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (a constituent unit of Indian Space Research Organisation) claims that the flash flood took place after a landslide triggered a snow avalanche. The institute rejects the earlier theory of the disaster taking place due to glacier burst.
